We offer a variety of programs designed to quickly and affordably make an impact. From one day courses to 4 week classes, each of our courses are designed to be cost-effective and flexible. Below are some of the programs we have previously ran or are currently running.
We focus on three different areas of programming: Entrepreneurship, Skills Retraining & Development, and College Access.
Learning Does Make Sense Media Entrepreneurship Course
The online entrepreneurship course is designed to take you from opportunity identification through launch, analyze alternative business models, learning how to write a mini business plan, and learning how to raise money.
Business Ideation and Crafting the Pitch – The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) delivers its award-winning Entrepreneurship 1 course, activating students’ entrepreneurial mindset while they learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and create and pitch original business plans.
The Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate is a non-for-profit organization that fosters African-American & Hispanic leadership through professional development. This program was established to promote business education, etiquette, and self-sufficiency skills among African-American & Hispanic students. This is a program for students interested in learning more about succeeding in life after high school and becoming a successful professional.
An Entrepreneurship Workshop for the Community
I.C.stars alumni and entrepreneurs lead the public – students and small business owners – through exercises to re-think business problems and generate new business ideas
Skills Retraining & Development
Cisco Training Academy
Cisco Instructors will provide training and certification to individuals who want to pursue careers in IT or network engineering. Learn more about the value of the Cisco Training Academy on their website.
Bootstrap + Web Development
Latinx Code teaches students how to use HTML, CSS, & Bootstrap. This is an open-source front-end framework for websites and web applications.
Apple Coding Club
Using Apple’s playgrounds and Xcode, learn coding basics and unlock a digital badge via LRNG. Learn more about this new initiative called “Everyone Can Code” on Apple’s website.
College Ready SAT Prep
A true blended learning course that combines teacher-led instruction & software-based practice to prepare high school students for the SAT.
Scholarship Application Marathons
Search for, identify, and apply to scholarships using College Greenlight and CPS’ Academic Works platform, and receive immediate feedback from volunteers.
